On Saturday, March 25th from 9am-12pm, the Society of Women Engineers Houston Area section hosted a Think Like An Engineer Badge Day - Daisy's for the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto. There were over 20 students in attendance where we did three engineering activities with the students in order for them to earn a badge. The activities included Don't Melt the Ice (chemical engineer) activity where students learned about heat transfer and insulation to keep their ice cube from melting, a Kinetic energy activity with building a Pinwheel (environmental/mechanical engineering) and a robotics engineering activity, Wigglebot, that allowed students to build and design their own robot. Students enjoyed the robot activity the best and the parents were excited to see their students engaged and learning about engineering. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped with the session, we could not do it without them.
