Meet Our Leadership Team!
The Houston Area section is led by local members that have been elected by the local section to serve one fiscal year from July 1st to June 30th to represent the Executive Council. The Executive Council is assisted by several committees. Additionally, SWE-HA has a Board of Trustees that consists of four senior SWE-HA members who serve a 3-year term.

Ashley Zamore - President

Ashley Zamore grew up in New Jersey and earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University. While at Rutgers, Ashley was an active participant in the collegiate SWE section, serving one term as Treasurer and one as Vice President. After graduating, Ashley moved to Houston. She has spent her career working in oil and gas in various project management and business services roles and currently works as a Project Manager for Centurion Pipeline.
Ashley has been an active participant in the SWE-HA section since moving to Houston over 15 years ago. As a life member, she has held many positions including FY16 Treasurer, FY17 Section Rep, FY19 VP-External, and FY20 E-week Chair. Ashley lives in Rice Military with her husband, Kherry, and daughter, Abigail. Her favorite part about SWE is getting to connect with so many diverse women.

Hope Weller - VP External

Hope is a petroleum engineer with 7 years of production engineering experience who graduated from Penn State. During her career, she has worked in Utah, Colorado and Texas. She has been in Texas for the past 5 years. Originally from the East Coast, she loves experiencing all Houston has to offer, including the culture, sporting events, and food. She is the current Industrial Chair for SWE-HA and enjoys meeting new members of SWE and participating in all SWE events.
Kathryn Schoer - VP Internal

Kathryn is a Facilities Project Engineer at Arion Blue with a background in chemical process engineering. She has spent her career working on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects in the energy and chemical markets. Her duties include managing engineering design changes, reviewing issued drawings, calculations, and packages, assisting with project quality, safety, and assurance measures, and delegating and communicating with team members to ensure project completion. She has loved every minute working closely on cross-functional teams and improving operational performance and client satisfaction.
Kathryn graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and a Minor in Business Administration. She is a certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, passed her chemical professional engineering (PE) exam in May 2019, and is planning on applying for licensure in the next year.
Kathryn strongly believes in leadership mentorship, community involvement, STEM outreach, and being a good corporate citizen. Since 2017, she’s been actively involved and taken leadership roles with Society of Women Engineers, Phi Beta Kappa, Toastmasters, and company sponsored United Way campaigns. She gives credit to SWE-Houston Area section for providing her opportunities to cultivate many professional friendships and continually develop her leadership capabilities.
Kathryn graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and a Minor in Business Administration. She is a certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, passed her chemical professional engineering (PE) exam in May 2019, and is planning on applying for licensure in the next year.

Amanda Hafemeister - VP Outreach
Ky Cao - Secretary

Ky graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2020 with a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering. She has been a SWE member since her freshmen year in college and enjoyed volunteering in events that foster an early interest in STEM careers like STEMfest for Girl Scouts and STEM high school conferences. After moving back to Houston, she joined SWE-HA and held the position of Web Virtuoso.
She is currently an environmental consultant at Spirit Environmental with a focus on air permitting work for oil and gas facilities. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and hanging out with friends.
Victoria Herman - Treasurer

Victoria Herman has been a member of the SWE since 2008 and with the Houston SWE Section since 2015. In her time with the Houston Area Section, she has held the executive committee positions of Section Representative and Vice President Career Guidance for 2 years.
She’s also been active volunteering as the webmaster for the last 2 years and with outreach activities, has been a part of the nominating and scholarship committees, and helped with many other events. In her professional life, Victoria is a mechanical engineer at Jacobs Engineering, working to design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial buildings. Victoria and her husband Michael live in Lindale Park and love to travel.
