The Society of Women Engineers – Houston Area Section (SWE-HA) awards:
The recipient(s) will receive a monetary award towards a single year of study and in some cases may receive further support.
Scholarships offered by SWE-HA will be awarded on the basis of merit to a qualified female student in the Greater Houston Area.
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Freshman Scholarships to female students who plan to attend an ABET accredited 4-year college or university pursuing an engineering or engineering related discipline, and;
- Upper class Scholarships (Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors) to female students currently enrolled in or transferring from a community college to an ABET accredited 4-year program, pursuing an engineering or engineering related discipline.
The recipient(s) will receive a monetary award towards a single year of study and in some cases may receive further support.
Scholarships offered by SWE-HA will be awarded on the basis of merit to a qualified female student in the Greater Houston Area.
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Senior High School Female Student at a Houston Area school or an upper class student already enrolled in or transferring from a junior or community college
- Plans to major in an Engineering or Engineering-related discipline at an ABET accredited 4 year college or university the following academic year

Student Scholarship and Awards Banquet
Middle and high school female students from the Greater Houston Area schools and surrounding districts are recognized as Academic Scholarship and Certificate of Merit and Achievement recipients annually in the spring at the Student Scholarship and Awards Banquet. These young women are presented with a formal SWE-HA certificate of achievement for their distinguished scholastic interest in science and engineering.
